Many thoughts
None of them helpful
To what I’m trying to do

Many feelings
None of them clear
I’m tired of being confused

Many bad things
So many good

I don’t
Understand
What it means

The world’s
Overflowing
With contradictions

Nothing
Is what it seems

Secrets Of The Night

A cool breeze on my cheek
A soft whisper in the night

I sit in perfect quietude
And wish with all my might

The night is my companion
As my dreams wander afar

I am no longer frightened as
I whisper secrets to the stars

For the stars they tell no secrets
Though they know them all

They just sit and watch the world go by
‘Til it’s their turn to fall

When it’s my time to leave this world
I can only hope I might

Join the twinkling chorus up high
And hear the secrets of the night

Don't Be Too Early

Early to bed
And early to rise

May put the glow of ambition
Into your eyes

But early to judge
And early to hate

And you might as well
Have slept in late

I must learn to love myself
And be my own best friend

To appreciate and value me
Until the very end

For self loathing is destructive
And causes only pain

While self love is the key
To never-ending gain

For if I cannot love myself
How can I love another?

And if I cannot love another
How can another love me?

Doubting Thee

But I have trouble seeing
